RBI Data on Forex Inflows under Reserve Bank’s Swap Facility

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on September 23, 2026, released data on forex inflows received through FCNR(B) deposits, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) and Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) under the special USD-INR Forex Swap facility introduced on June 8, 2026. The FCNR(B) deposit window was open until August 31, 2026, while the facility for ECBs and OFCBs remains open until December 31, 2026.

As reported by Authorised Dealer Banks up to September 18, 2026, total forex inflows under the facility stood at USD 143,596 million. This comprised USD 132,980 million through FCNR(B) deposits, USD 5,320 million through OFCBs, and USD 5,296 million through ECBs. The FCNR(B) figure relates to deposits mobilised up to August 31, 2026.

The RBI has clarified that the reported figures represent forex inflows received under the swap facility, with the FCNR(B) window having already closed while ECB and OFCB inflows can continue until December 31, 2026.
